Workshop Day

08:00 - 11:15 Workshop A: You’re Not Paid to Have a Bad Day

Mark Maguire - Director, I am Captain of my Ship
Everyone has a bad day, a bad week, you may even think your life feels bad right now. Most of the time we bring our personal baggage into the work place and that negativity will be highlighted when we allow people and situations to take control of us. None of us want to have bad days in the office; give us a choice and we’d easily accept being a positive influence. Interesting thing is most of us don’t know how our moods, demeanour and attitude influence others around us.

This workshop is more than a pick me up, kick in the pants, let’s go get ‘em, style program. It will give you simple practical tools to deal with the chaos around you without losing your cool, and know how to separate and leave your personal life at home to be focused and on fire at work.

What you will learn:

  • You can become more than resilient; you can become unbreakable.
  • How to gain control of your own emotional state.
  • Become the positive influence within your workplace.
  • Practicalities in empathy, self-control and courage.
  • How to keep your head well above water when you feel like the workload and others are drowning you.
  • Open discussion with practical examples to turn a bad day into a good day.
