athew is a successful IT entrepreneur having started his first business at the age of 12 and now having started a total of 6 successful businesses. Those businesses have won numerous local, national and international awards including the Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year and the Australian Business Council Award for Innovation. He has written 3 successful books – the most successful of which is ‘Small Business Ru!es’. He writes several columns – the best known being ‘From the Coal Face’ in CRN Magazine and has several radio spots with his most popular being the small business segment on ABC Radio National with Tony Delroy. In his spare time he writes and recites bush poetry, races Mountain Bikes and is an active member of Mensa. In addition to his CEO experience with his 6 start-ups where he directly employed his own assistants, he is currently in his 4th term as Mayor of the City of Dubbo where the assistant to the Mayor remains a constant even when a new Mayor is elected so the Mayor needs to quickly work with the talent he is provided rather than hand-picking his own assistant.
